First and foremost, Dean suggests keeping two keywords in mind when redecorating: seamless and stylish. Here are her top predictions for what's set to be on-trend in the coming year:

1. Boucle fabric: Many of us are currently craving a multisensory palette, and designers are responding by using materials that bring tactility to interiors and create emotional responses. Boucle, a yarn with a looped or curled ply, is a particularly popular choice for designers at the moment. This fabric has a gorgeous weave and evokes a very Chanel-like luxury. It works best on soft, rounded pieces of furniture, but is also popular as throws and cushions.

2. Floor art: Rugs are a great way to refresh the decor in your home and bring together different pieces of furniture. This year, organic shapes and bold, statement art are replacing conventional circular and rectangular forms. Look for luxe underfoot feels and graphic, vintage patterns in rugs.
